I only post deals on my blog when I truly love the product. Candy Club is one of those products. Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to receive and review a free box of candy from Candy Club, and was blown away at how delicious the candy tasted. As a candy lover since I was a kid, I could really taste the difference in quality of the Candy Club candies versus the ones you pick up at the store.
If you haven’t yet tried Candy Club, I’ll give you a rundown of what it is and how to get started. Candy Club is a subscription box service that brings the world’s best candies to your doorstep. What’s also fantastic is that you can give Candy Club as a gift. Trust me, it makes a really good gift to anyone who loves premier candies.
If you are wondering what kinds of candies are available through Candy Club, they make it very convenient to see the entire list. My favorite candy is the Promotion in Motion (Sour Jacks Watermelon).
Ordering from Candy Club
It’s simple to order from Candy Club. When you go to www.candyclub.com, click on the huge “Get Started” button.
From there you’ll be able to choose from a monthly plan ($29.99/month), the 6 month plan ($24.99/month), or the 12 month plan ($21.99/month) (all prices do not include shipping).
Once you choose your plan, Candy Club gives you the option to upgrade to save even more money. This is completely optional. If you are satisfied and ready to order, the next screen you go to is your billing and shipping information.
Once you’ve entered your information, you’ll get to take the super cool candy quiz. This quiz asks you what types of candies you love best so that a customized subscription box can be created for you (really cool!). Once you’ve finished your quiz and processed your order, your delicious candies will be at your doorstep before you know it.
Did you end up trying Candy Club after reading today’s post? I really hope you got the chance, because their candies are some of the best I’ve ever tasted. If you have tried it, what did you think? Did you pick a recurring plan? Or did you send a gift? Let me know in the comments. I have a good affiliate/merchant relationship with Candy Club, and they always listen to the feedback I give them.

I am NOT a registered nutritionist or diet expert. If you have concerns about your diet/nutrition, consult a professional.
PowerBar has created new Clean Whey Protein Bars perfect for athletes and for those simply looking for a healthy alternative to other bars out there that are full of sugar. The Clean Whey Protein Bars can be a perfect addition to your diet and is perfect for those always on the go.
When the team at PowerBar reached out to me to review the Clean Whey Protein Bars, I jumped at the chance because I’m one that commonly eats more of the unhealthier options.
Today, I’ll give you an overview of the 5 different flavored Clean Whey Protein Bars I was provided, and give you my honest opinion of what I think about the products.
20g of high quality protein – whey protein isolate is fast acting to quickly repair muscles, while milk protein isolate aids in long lasting energy and satiety
2g of sugar
High protein, low net carb alternative to the traditional protein bar
I had the chance to taste 5 different flavors of the PowerBar Clean Whey Protein Bars: Vanilla Coconut Crunch, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Chocolate Nut Brownie, White Fudge Raspberry, Cookies and Cream. While not very sweet, I thought all of these bars were still tasty. My absolute favorite was the White Fudge Raspberry! We let the kids have a taste and they all came to the conclusion that Cookies and Cream was their favorite. I absolutely recommend these bars if you are looking for a healthy snack while you are on the go!
These bars are a healthier alternative in terms of low saturated fat, no alternative sweetener or flavor, and the fact that they are gluten free. They also won’t break you wallet. If you are one that eats protein bars every day, they come in larger boxes. You can also buy them individually at a number of different stores and supermarkets.

FotoJet is an online graphic design tool you can use when you need to create graphics such as social media covers, posters, flyers, invitations, or collages. You can also use the tool to retouch, enhance or edit images without having to learn complex programs such as Adobe Photoshop.
When the great folks at FotoJet reached out to me to review their product, I was pleased to get the opportunity. Although I would call myself fully dedicated to Photoshop, I often keep a list of handy supplementary tools in my back pocket to assist me when I’m rushed for time and need to create something quickly.
Today, I’ll give you an overview of the FotoJet Plus version, which is the paid plan.
A simple photo editor allows you to adjust the size, effects, colors, and rotation of your images without having to know much about photography. Basic photo editing tools are available to all users and include auto enhancing, cropping, resizing, rotating, exposure, and color. Advanced photo editing tools (available only to Plus members) include tools such as sharpening, dehazing, noise reducing, vignette, focusing, color splash, and selective filtering.
There are also a handful of other handy effects you can apply such as featured effects, black and white, sepia, vintage, chromatic, lomo, old photo and scene. Complete your photo editing with text, clipart, overlay effects, and frames.
The best part of using this photo editor is that you can possess little to no knowledge about photo editing and the terms that go with it, and still successfully produce professional-looking photos.
FotoJet: Create a design
FotoJet’s Graphic Design tool is a very easy and useful tool to use. Create a wide variety of graphics such as posters, flyers, invitations, cards, magazine covers, social media headers and posts, and banner ads. Simply click on the desired graphic and it takes you to an editor screen where you can choose from free or paid templates, add photos from your computer or Facebook, and share your completed designs on social media.
FotoJet: Create a collage
FotoJet’s collage design tool allows you to create collages, photo cards, comics, fun photos, or frames. Simply select your desired graphic and again you are taken to an editor screen where you can bring your creation to life.
FotoJet: Basic version
If you are not in the market to spend a little money on the Plus membership, the basic version is sufficient enough to carry out basic image editing and projects. If the Plus membership is something you would be interested in down the road, you have the option to upgrade the free account to the Plus account at any time.
My FotoJet Ratings
Ease of Use
I simply didn’t feel comfortable when I loaded FotoJet into my browser. I kept looking for a way to sign up for a free account. There was no button or link directing me to the account sign-up process. This needs to be fixed. I had to click on “Login” just to get to the new account registration form. I highly recommend FotoJet add a new account registration button at the top of the home page. There is a button to upgrade for the Plus account, but if you are simply looking to stay with the free version, you have to go into one of FotoJet’s tools, create your graphic, and then sign up for the account at the end of the process. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, I just think the layout has room for improvement.
For the most part, I found the photo editor easy to use. I wasn’t too sure how to use the focus and tilt shift tools to get the desired blur effect into my image. Regardless of the intensity of the blur, I couldn’t get a proper blend between blur and clear sections of my image. I don’t have this problem at all in Photoshop so FotoJet didn’t earn any brownie points from me with the blur/focus tool.
Site Design/Layout: I really love the FotoJet layout. Everything is easy to find (except for a new account registration button). FotoJet looks nearly identical to Canva. One of the best parts of the design is that all of your design options appear in the left column, and any photos you’ve uploaded appear in the right. This layout gives you plenty of room to work with your graphics in the middle of the screen.
Speed: When I tried to load www.fotojet.com in FireFox, it took nearly 25-30 seconds to fully load with a super-fast internet connection. I also loaded it into Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge and experienced the same initial delay. While this isn’t nearly the amount of time it takes for me to load a memory hogging program like Photoshop, the developers of FotoJet should look for ways to speed up this process.
Photo Editor Performance: I had problems working with the photo editor inside of Mozilla Firefox. As soon as I selected the Vignette effect, my image size dropped from fitting on my screen to a size so small I could barely see it. Selecting the “Undo” arrow reversed this problem. When I tried the Vignette effect again, nothing changed and my image didn’t load all the way. I closed out of Firefox, loaded the same image in Google Chrome, and all features seemed to work. I had a fully edited image in about 5 minutes.
Graphic Designer Performance: The Graphic Design feature is great for creating basic graphics, such as social media posts and headers, invitations, or flyers. I tested its functionality by creating a sample invitation. It was easy to create the invitation using FotoJet’s backgrounds, fonts, and colors. The whole process took less than 5 minutes, and I was able to easily save it to my PC.
Collage Creator Performance: I don’t create photo collages that often, but FotoJet’s collage feature really makes it easy to make them. I used several of my own images to create the design, and had it completed in less than 3 minutes.
FotoJet’s prices are definitely not outrageous. If you are a moderate user of the kinds of graphic design services they provide, it’s an affordable alternative to some of the more elaborate and expensive programs. I currently pay less than $11 per month for Photoshop. If you don’t have that amount of money to spend on a graphic design solution, check out FotoJet’s $4.99 per month option. To save even more money, it’s worth paying the annual price.
If you are in need of customer support, there is a link at the very bottom of the page that takes you to a page where you can access tutorials and tips, FAQs, or a place to make a suggestion. Since I did not have any issues requiring customer support, I was unable to test FotoJet’s response time. What disappoints me about the support section is that there is no option to email FotoJet directly when there are issues. There is a separate “Contact Us” link in the site footer that allows you to provide feedback. I would like to see an online tech support chat feature or an official ticket system for issues in future versions.
My honest opinion is that FotoJet is a descent graphic design service for those individuals who do not need the complexity of high-end graphic design applications. I really like the layout of the site, and the ease of creating graphics without having to know advanced design terms and coding. If you are in the market for a quick tool to use, there are multiple tools on the market to suit your needs. If I had the choice between FotoJet or Canva, I’d go with Canva. Canva seems to have more options, better service, and a very solid reputation. I see a lot of bloggers speak very highly of Canva. I definitely recommend FotoJet if you are on a budget, or even need something free for the time being. FotoJet definitely won’t disappoint you in terms of cost. Creating a quick graphic for my blog or a flyer announcing an event couldn’t be easier.
“This post is sponsored by Everywhere Agency on behalf of Char-Broil; however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
It’s springtime across the country! Gone are the days of shoveling snow, scraping ice, and dealing with subzero temperatures here in Ohio. Spring is in the air, which means one thing to me – grilling and entertaining season has begun! I can finally count down the days to Memorial Day on my fingers and toes!
I have to say that this opportunity came to me at the perfect time. The last time I tried to grill out simple burgers, my 6-year-old grill (already on the fritz) flamed up so badly I burned all the food. I’m talking flames reaching about 6 feet high. I really though my grill was going to go kaboom! I had to call my father in-law outside to help me put out the flames. Simply embarrassing! When I was contacted to test out a Char-Broil Tru Infrared gas grill, I couldn’t have been happier to bid adieu to my old grill. I did receive a free grill for purposes of performing this review for my blog.
User rating: Currently rates 3.7 out of 5 stars on the Char-Broil website
Where to purchase: Lowe’s, Char-Broil
One of the many reasons I was excited to get this grill to test was that I was got the opportunity to test out an infrared cooking system. All of the grills I have owned in the past did not have this technology. As soon as I dropped my burgers onto the grilling grates, I immediately got to see this technology in action. Conventional gas grills use convection heat. Convection heat is known to create pockets of cooler air around the food. When this happens, the food doesn’t cook evenly. Grills that use infrared technology do not experience this problem because the heat that is distributed from its burners goes directly to a specially designed metal that retains heat. Infrared grilling is definitely the way to go because it results in meat with more juice, more evenly cooked food, and no flame ups. If you read about my fiasco with flame ups earlier in this post, you’ll surely understand why I welcome this feature!
Porcelain Coated Grates
The grill comes with durable porcelain coated cooking grates, which are much easier to clean and maintain than other conventional grill grates. I did a lot of research on how to maintain the grill’s lifespan, and one thing that Char-Broil urges is to make sure to use the supplied cleaning tool and not a regular grill brush. They also strongly suggest the usage of a grill cover. Customer reviews I read indicated the grates tend to rust without proper protection and cleaning. While Char-Broil states that these grates are rust-resistant, going the extra mile to properly clean and store the grill only contributes to its durability.
The sideburner is a great feature of this grill. What I like about Char-Broils is that it comes with the option to use the included heavy-duty griddle, or a metal rack for warming up sauces and side dishes in a pot. There is also a sturdy steel lid that can be closed to allow more room for additional workspace.
Stainless Steel Burners
The burners on this grill are made of stainless steel and can be adjusted to raise or lower the cooking temperature. I have not tried to adjust them yet as I only cooked with the grill once. If you are getting ready to make a gas grill purchase, I do recommend only buying one with stainless steel burners because as food drippings build up over time, the acids inside can damage the burners. Stainless steel is more durable and resistant to these drippings.
The wheels on this grill come with locking casters which come in very handy when trying to set it on a surface that’s not completely flat. While not necessarily essential, I do recommend locking the wheels even on a flat surface just to keep the grill from moving at all.
You can choose to purchase separate accessories, such as condiment baskets or tool hooks, to add to the grill’s side shelves. I have not yet purchases any of these accessories, but might in the future as my grilling needs change.
This grill comes equipped with an electronic igniter located at each burner. Like most gas grills, igniting the burners involves quickly pushing one of the burner knobs and turning to high while immediately pressing the igniter switch. With this grill, you can use any of the burners to ignite it. It will be a test of time to see how long the igniter lasts with as often as I grill in the warm months. Gas grills commonly have electronic igniters that eventually go bad.
Swing-A-Way Warming Rack
The warming rack on this grill will swing back when you open your grill lid, allowing you more room to access the food on the cooking grates. When I grilled out the first time, I put my corn on the cob on the warming rack while I was working on the burgers, peppers, and chicken tenders. I was able to fit a lot of corn on the warming rack. It is much larger than other grills I have in the past – so comes in handy as a great place to let things warm while you focus on other food items!
Lid-Mounted Temperature Gauge
The temperature gauge mounted on the lid of the grill is very big and easy to read. I regularly grill my burgers with the lid closed because I like trapping in that smokey flavor, and the burgers cook quicker too. The temperature gauge lets me know what’s going on under the hood without having to let all of the heat escape by opening the lid.
This grill comes with a 10 year warranty on the stainless burners, 3 years on the firebox, lid, grates and emitters. All other parts are covered for 1 year.
Uses Propane or Natural Gas
A separately sold conversion kit allows you to switch from propane to your home’s natural gas line.
Propane Level Gauge
The grill comes equipped with a propane level gauge that connects directly to the propane tank. The gauge tells you how much gas you have left, so no more chances to run out of fuel!

The Char-Broil Commercial™ 4 Burner Gas Grill in Action
Today was a PERFECT day to test out the grill. Temps were in the 80s and no rain in sight. With a family of 6, I always grill multiple items at once. We decided to make poblano burgers, grilled corn on the cob, and chicken tenders. I was able to get all of this food on the grill with plenty of room to spare!
Heats up quickly. My poblano burgers were ready to go on the grill in under 5 minutes.
Wide grilling area
Infrared system really does a fantastic job preventing flame-ups.
Has a propane level gauge to tell you when it’s time for a new tank. A must have for a frequent griller!
Grill can be converted from propane to natural gas. A separate conversion kit is required, but still a great option if you choose to hook into your home’s natural gas line!
Grilling grates and the infrared metal plates are set up in such a way as to prevent food from slipping through to the bottom of the grill.
A little on the heavy side. It took a good bit of effort for me to get the grill rolling to its final spot in the backyard. It doesn’t roll very well in grass.
Takes a while to assemble. Expect to set aside anywhere between 3-4 hours of undivided attention assembling everything.
Doesn’t have anything to hold the two steel doors in place whenever you try to move the grill. I moved the grill from my garage (where I assembled it) around the corner to my backyard and one of the doors kept popping open. Would like to see some sort of latch/magnetic device on future models to keep this from happening.
I give this grill 4.5 out of 5 stars because it really is an all-around fantastic grill to have in the backyard. I love how once you ignite it, it’s fired up and ready to go in no time (and with minimal effort too!). I’m extremely impressed with the Tru Infrared technology. Not once did any of my burgers cause a flame-up, and I tend to grill them on the hotter side of the temperature gauge. Had I tried this on my old grill, I would be sure to see flames a mile high. I love how Char-Broil has designed this grill to be a stylish and rugged product. The stainless steel design combined with the dark porcelain makes this a beautiful grill. Coming in at over 180 lbs, it’s pretty heavy, but with that weight comes durability.
The assembly process was relatively time-consuming, but the instructions were easy to follow for the most part. From the time I got it out of the box, until the last part was attached, I had spent about 4 total hours putting it together. I had never assembled a gas grill like this before, so some of that time was me trying to decypher the instructions. There were a few steps a long the way where I had to stop and try to figure out where the directions where pointing me to put a screw or attach a part.
There are no assembly tools included with the grill, so expect to pull out a few screw drivers, wrenches, and needle-nose plyers to help you get the job done. There were also several occasions where I had to position myself on my back to be able to reach up to attach a part. Most of the assembly process, though, I was able to sit or stand comfortably while working. I will say heed caution when installing the lid. It contains most of the weight. Although I installed it by myself, the product guide states that two people are required to install it.
As I mentioned earlier, the grill is bulky, coming in at around 180 lbs. I had to move it from my garage to the backyard, which meant occasional movement through the grass. I did have to put some muscle into the grill to get it to start rolling, but as long as I kept it on the sidewalk, it moved very well. The few times I had to roll it in the grass, I experienced a lot of difficulty getting it to roll at all.
My very first grilling experience with this Char-Broil Grill was pleasant. When I grill, I grill for my wife and 4 kids, and sometimes my inlaws and their daughter, so I’m cooking for a large family. I am very pleased with the amount of space I had to work with while grilling. Other grills I’ve had always seemed to limit me in terms of cooking space, but not my Char-Broil. If you are cooking in bulk like I did, you will have plenty of room to do what you need to do.
There really is something truly special about grilling out on a warm night with the family. Nothing beats watching the kids run around having a good time in the backyard, sipping a Manhattan or a cold beer, and smelling the smokey goodness that’s under the hood of my Char-Broil Grill. I am already excited about using the grill again. Knowing that I don’t have to constantly babysit for flame-ups is a huge selling point for me. I can spend my time watching my kids play rather than play firefighter. Grilling should be relaxing and fun. I truly enjoy using this grill and highly recommend it to anyone who is in the market for a new gas grill.

What came in my box:
I received 5 pieces of chocolate in the complementary subscription box that Chococurb sent me for review purposes:
Dick Taylor Craft Chocolate
Fran’s Macadamia Gold Bar
Pitch Dark Pinot Noir Salt & Chocolate
Amedi Toscano Blond
Theo Cinnamon Horchada
Dick Taylor Craft Chocolate
Ingredients: Organic Cacao & Organic Cane Sugar
Weight: 2 oz (57g)
Taste Test Results: This one was my favorite of the 5 pieces because I enjoy very sweet chocolates with mixed in cherry flavors.
Fran’s Macadamia Gold Bar
Ingredients: Caramel and macadamia nuts covered in dark chocolate
Weight: 1.5 oz (42g)
Taste Test Results: Not my overall favorite, but is one that tasted great and left me wanting for more. I normally like my chocolate without nuts, but this one is one I’d buy more of because it was the perfect mixture.
Taste Test Results: I’ve never been a fan of salty chocolate, and it remains true with this one. It just didn’t have the flavor I’d expect from a piece of chocolate I’m known to buy.
Amedi Toscano Blond
Ingredients: Cocoa mass, cane sugar, cocoa butter, dried fruit (10% peach, apricot), vanilla. Cocoa min. 63%. May contain traces of hazelnut, almond, pistachio, walnut, milk.
Taste Test Results: Absolutely perfect chocolate! I don’t normally associate fine chocolate coming from Italy, at least chocolate I’ve had in the past, but this one surprised me! I would order this one again!
Theo Cinnamon Horchada
Ingredients: Cane Sugar+, Cocoa Beans+, Cocoa Butter+, Milk Powder, Crisped Brown Rice*, Crisped Quinoa+, Cinnamon+, Ground Vanilla Bean*+. CONTAINS: MILK *Organic +Fair Trade Contains 79% FT Ingredients. Allergen Information: Manufactured on shared equipment with products containing eggs, wheat, peanuts and tree nuts.
Weight: 1.9 oz (53g)
Taste Test Results: Chocolate mixed with cinnamon and quinoa? Definitely a first for me, but surprisingly, was one of my favorite! Very tasty!
Overall Review: This is the very first chocolate subscription box I have tried, and honestly, I’m not one to pay $35 per month just for chocolate. I will say, though, that if you are a true chocolate connoisseur, Chococurb hits the sweet spot in terms of quality. These chocolates measure up to par with chocolates I had while traveling in Germany. I like that there are two boxes. If the Classic box is a little out of your budget, the Mini box surely can satisfy both your sweet tooth and your wallet. If you haven’t already, give Chococurb a try today with an exclusive 10% off coupon code for Go Ask Your Daddy readers – GOASK.
Please note: This post contains affiliate links. I received a free box of Candy Club candy in response to my review of this product. All opinions are my own.
I’ve had the awesome opportunity several times over the last year to review the craze that is the subscription box. I’ve received the SWEETEST subscription box of them all today, and boy am I excited to share this review with you!
Today, I’m reviewing Candy Club. Candy Club is a monthly subscription box service that delivers 2-3 lbs of delicious premium candies right to your mailbox. They select and deliver the most delicious candies from all over the world. You have the option of either letting Candy Club automatically select which candies you receive, or you can customize your own box. I chose to customize my own box.
How it works
Candy Club, like other subscription boxes, gives you several plan options to choose from when you go to their website (www.candyclub.com). Their 3-step process makes it very easy to get your very own candy on its way to your mailbox.
First, choose the plan that you want. You can choose from the month-to-month plan ($27.99 + shipping), the 6-month plan ($22.99 + shipping), or the 12-month plan ($19.99 + shipping), but you can cancel at any time. For the purpose of reviewing this product, Candy Club offered me the one-time option at no cost.
Second, take the candy quiz. Of all the quizzes I ever took in high school and college, this, by far, is the SWEETEST quiz I’ve ever taken. All you have to do is answer a few basic questions about your preferred types of candies, and Candy Club assembles your candies for you. How cool is that? There is an option to add on additional candies (for an additional fee) if you’d like. I did not do that for this review. Once you’ve taken the quiz and Candy Club has assembled your candies, you then have the option to swap out candies if you don’t like some of the selections it has made for you.
The third step is to simply ENJOY YOUR CANDY! My family helped me with the taste testing of my candy box last night. I ordered the Fini Assorted Jellies, the Fini Sour Filled Watermelon Bricks, and the Albanese Tuxedo Almonds.
My Personal Opinion
I LOVE Candy Club! The opportunity to get wonderful, delicious, premium candies delivered to your doorstep each month is such a great idea! I can really tell the difference in the freshness of Candy Club’s candy versus the candy available in most stores today.
In being completely honest with you all, I believe the prices are a little on the high side, but are not unreasonable because you always get what you pay for, and you are definitely getting high-quality, deliciously-tasting candy from Candy Club!
I didn’t have a bad-tasting candy in any of the 3 jars I received. My favorite? The Fini Sour Filled Watermelon Bricks! I’ve always been a lover of sour candies, and these really hit the spot. In fact, I’ve eaten half the jar while typing up this review. I just couldn’t put them down!
The Candy Club Subscription Box is a wonderful gift for any occasion. Who hates candy, right?! With their range of plan options, you are sure to find the option that fits your needs very quickly.
Here are a few of the great deals Candy Club is offering right now. Be sure to use the links below so that the deal can be applied to your order:
