Men are typically harder to buy for than women, and that’s because most guys tend to keep things simple. We don’t have massive wish lists of the things we want, and instead will go out and buy the thing we need, when we need it. We don’t feel the need to buy items in every color, own things for decorative purposes and are generally a little less sentimental too. That’s just a generalization of course, and there are exceptions to the rule, but it’s why choosing gifts for guys will always be that bit harder. However, there are some things that make great presents and are the sort of thing that most will use and love. If you’re looking for Valentine’s Day ideas, have a birthday, anniversary or other gift-giving occasion coming up then here are a few things to consider!
Alcohol is an easy gift, if you know what the person you’re buying for likes to drink, then you can’t go wrong. It’s something that will get used and enjoyed, and a decent bottle of alcohol is a good kind of price point for a gift as well. You can get higher end boxed spirits which are perfect to give as gifts, or you could go with a nice wine or champagne. If you’re not sure what to go for, it’s a great fail-safe idea.
If you’re buying for the kind of person that already owns everything they want and need, or just isn’t that into material things then why not gift an experience instead? There are so many experience days out there these days that no matter what they’re into, you will be able to find something. You can get luxury and muscle car driving experiences, hot air balloon rides, steam train experiences, even plane flying days. Alternatively, you could gift tickets for them to see their favorite performer or sports team, or for them to visit a place they’ve always wanted to see. There’s something for all budgets here since you can get lots of experience days fairly cheaply whereas certain tickets and trips will, of course, be much more expensive.
Buying clothes as gifts generally, isn’t recommended unless you know the person’s taste very well. In many cases, it’s not worth the risk. However, you could get away with buying accessories if you know the kind of thing they like. Good quality belts, sunglasses, wallets and ties all make good gifts. You could choose a plain design with a simple embossed logo which will appeal to most people. Underwear is another easy choice if you’re buying for a partner, let’s face it you can never have too much as it’s always going to be worn! Brands like Waxx underwear have some fun designs if you’re looking for something a little different.
Tech gifts and gadgets are always fun and go down a treat if you have a bit more to spend. It doesn’t have to be a brand new computer, smartphone or tablet- there are lots of extras like speakers and headphones that make great gift ideas. Alternatively, you could go down the route of a hover board or drone to provide hours of fun to anyone into their gadgets!
