I hope all of you who are reading my blog have a Happy Thanksgiving! Today is a day to come together not just to stuff ourselves silly, but to also spend time with our family and friends who make our lives meaningful and worthwhile.
I love making new Thanksgiving traditions and continuing old ones with my family. When I was a kid, we always watched the Thanksgiving Day Parade and then went to my grandparents’ house for a HUGE feast. You probably know by now that I grew up in Georgia. Let me just say that people down south know exactly how to throw down at Thanksgiving dinner.
One fond Thanksgiving day memory is the football game we always played in the back yard after dinner. I’m not sure how we had the energy to run around for hours after stuffing ourselves with turkey, but somehow we found it. Now that I’m grown and have 4 kids of my own, keeping the afternoon football game going is something I’ve looked forward to continuing. Living in Ohio, the weather is not always the warmest this time of year, so getting outside to play is not as easy as it was in Georgia.
No matter what your traditions may be, take the time every day to tell your family and friends how much you love them and are thankful for them this Thanksgiving.
God bless all of you!
Have a blessed Thanksgiving Day!
